Bringing Home Jane…

Jon and I picked up Taco Bell on the night we brought Jane home.  Let me tell you, it tasted sooooo good.  I had been hungry and ooooh-so-very-thirsty during delivery.  My lips were constantly chapped and I could NOT get enough liquids.
You guys – Taco Bell was THE best thing ever…EVER!
Once we arrived home the kids were already in bed.  We hugged my in-laws and they headed home.  They had been a huge help to us.  They even made these amazing signs with the kids!
Oh my heart.
The first night with baby was…well, what one would expect with a first night at home with a baby…
Jon had taken off a week from work, but given the fact that we had Jane on a Monday, came home late Tuesday night, that only left me/us with Wednesday through Sunday.  He was a huge help during those days… I mean, I wasn’t surprised.  Jon did it all, you guys.
He’s amazing.
The kids came into our bedroom the next morning to greet Jane.  They were headed off to school and couldn’t wait to tell their friends and their teachers of their new little best friend.
Don’t mind Eliza’s bed head.  Ha!

…or the fact Henry needed a haircut!

They couldn’t wait to see her after school, too!

And of course, we tried on all the bows…

…and read Jane all the books…

…and snuggled, snuggled, snuggled…

We were in love.  Tired as all heck, but in love

It was hard for me to not play with Henry and Eliza.
Here’s Henry watching the neighbor boys playing outside.
As happy as I was to have Jane, I definitely mourned spending time with the older two…  I was not prepared for this…

Luckily, we have the best neighbors in the world and they had invited our kids over to their house to spend the night.  Oh how happy that made my heart.  For real, they’ll never know just how happy this made me…

Eliza playing outside…
Man this was rough for me during those first days, but the kids adjusted to our new “normal.”
I was so grateful for that…for them…

Jon fed me daily.  Breakfast, lunch and dinner, baby!  Bahaha!
He gave me all the good stuff.  In fact, I probably had too much of the good stuff as I’ve never truly lost all of my “baby weight.”  Haha!  I joke that he fed me like I was a bodybuilder…

My first taste of beer after nine months.
Amen.

Our friends sent us these treats!  I loved them!

Little girl was starting to take in the world…

Another yawn.  Oh so tired…

More sister snuggles.

Five days PP.  Our bodies are amazing!

Brother snuggles.

Our first car ride as a family of five…

In the thick of it.
Eliza took this photo of me.  She loved helping with diaper changes.  Henry not so much.  Jane, as you can see, wasn’t loving it…

Oh so very sleepy…

Okay, so there you have it.  The first five days of having Jane home in a nutshell.  Mostly just pictures of a tired Mama and a tired baby.  I’m going to try to post my favorite pictures by the month.  Next up, the month of April.  Oh how very tired I was, but there were lots of memories I need to document and share.  Stay tuned…
