...I'm the world's biggest pushover.

Seriously, I don't like calling the shots when it comes to making decisions.

It makes me uncomfortable.

...to go along with being a pushover - I don't like confrontation.

Years ago I used to work at a coffee shop and there were more times than I'd like to admit that I'd take blame if the order was wrong just so I wouldn't have to tell a fellow employee they had mixed up the orders.

I never wanted to hurt their feelings.

I realized that they were essentially wasting product, but I just couldn't bring myself to tell them they were wrong, so I'd act all ditzy and take one for the team.

I still do this on occasion in certain circumstances...it's something I need to work on.  Seriously, I'd rather act ditzy than be honest - what?!  It's a problem.  Given, I realize I'm not always right and I know that.  I just never want anyone to think I'm intentionally being bossy or mean...or attempting to take charge.  Even though I know that it's better to say something than not.

...on the flip side, I'm loud - like I should have my ears checked loud - and some people would probably call my obnoxious, but at least I know it!  LOL!

I just get waaaaay too excited when talking to people.

  I'm kind of like Buddy the Elf...all the time.

...my kids have been playing alone in the other room for the last 45 minutes...

...I found a tiny little Hershey's chocolate and an old Caramel-filled Cadbury Egg in the bottom of my purse yesterday and I secretly ate both of them.

It was awesome.

...I don't like any kind of tomato-based sauce.  So I don't like sauce on my pizza, I don't care for spaghetti or lasagna...and I'm not a fan of salsa.  I know, I'm weird.  Although, I have made huge strides and am finally opening up to little pieces of tomatoes in my guac and salads.

Baby steps...baby steps...

...I cannot...repeat CANNOT clean out my hairbrush.

It makes me gag and I have no idea as to why.  Honestly, I'd rather just throw my brush away and buy a new cheap one...I'm not kidding.

I can't even be in the room to hear the hair being pulled out and if I see it, it totally grosses me out.  For real.  It's frightening to me and it's awful to see and hear.  Should I be on one of those TLC shows or something?

Luckily my dear husband knows this and does it for me.

...I despise super hot weather.

I'd rather have a cloudy, heck, even rainy - 70 degree day than a hot and muggy 90 degree day any day.

...when we go grocery shopping I usually buy myself some sort of chocolate.

I buckle the kids in the car, pack up the groceries, then eat my little treat as fast as possible outside and behind the back of the car so the kids can't see what's going down.

...when I meet somebody new it seems as though they only hear, "MariA" I usually don't correct people because I figure, "Eh, close enough."

Due to this reoccurring issue, I had, years ago, adopted, "Maria," as my stage name whenever my friends/sister and I would go out karaoking.  I mean, it's no Sasha Fierce or anything...but "Maria" can still shake it - I can promise you that!  LOL!  ;)

I always miss the same single armpit hair when shaving my armpits...  It's under my right armpit and it's pretty gross.

I just took a shower AND shaved.

It's probably there now.

It's my birthday -WOOT WOOT - and I'm proud to admit that I brushed my hair today!

Social Media Growth

I need to expand my social media skills.  As of right now, Instagram serves as my major way of communicating with other bloggers via social media and I love it!  It's a wonderful community.

I've reactivated my Facebook, but it'd probably help if I actually posted over there once in a while. ;)  So, yeah - I need to get on that.

As for Snapchat and Twitter...I have no idea how to use them.

Who out there is using these two forms of social media?  Do you like it?  What should I be doing?  Should I be involved in other forms of social media at all?

Tell me your secrets!  Spill the beans, peeps!

Blog More Often

Trying to find time to blog is difficult.

It's a hit or miss on naptime over here, which used to be "the time" to blog.

So - I've incorporated "quiet time."  Yeah...about that...

Even if we attempt "quiet time," the kids aren't quite grasping the concept of staying in their bedrooms for longer than fifteen/twenty minutes tops.  Usually a fashion show ensues by Miss. E and Henry is heard saying, "Ta-da!"  The fashion show then usually turns into one without clothes.  Yup.  Eliza gets down to her birthday suit and then she usually does some sort of booty dance.

"Quiet time" over.

*sigh*

Kids be cray-cray!

Where was I?

Ahh..yes...

I need to find "the time" to blog again.  Fellow bloggers swear by the early morning hours.  I may have to give it a try...even though I really, reaaaaaally don't want to...

Rich Content

I'd like to think of this blog as a personal journal, but also as a place where friends, family and strangers can come and get inspired.  I think it's fun to share our daily lives, it keeps it real, but I have a huuuuge passion for all things home decor, as well.

As I was explaining to Jon, our home has walls with nothing on them and as much as I'd like to decorate the entire house in a weekend - that's impossible.  Making a house a home takes time and how fun would it be to share the journey?

Clean up the Ole' Bloggity Blog

It's not bad, but it's certainly not great.  I love the design.  It's my pages and archives that need work.

Be Me

We all know about this one, don't we?

Trying to stay yourself when everyone wants to be - from a design standpoint - some form of Joanna Gaines (love her), Genevieve Gorder, Candice Olson (one of the best) or Vern Yip, not mention the various other amazing bloggers and Instagrammers.

Most people want Pinterest-y homes, well-dressed children and designer clothes.  But you know what?  Our home was built in the 70's, it has a creepy crawl space and we've had mice.

Sure, we've renovated, and believe me, it took lots of blood, sweat and tears.  Literally.  We've made our home new again, but it gets messy, it gets dirty, there are legos everywhere, socks down the hallway and dirty dishes in the sink.  In the midst of all the "perfection" floating around the wonderful World Wide Web, it's important to show the "imperfect perfection" that of which is our home, our lives and our kids.

You may see Henry wearing a cute shirt from Zulily and Eliza sporting some Matilda Jane on IG, but in reality...most of their clothes are hand-me-downs and most others were purchased at the grocery store, cute, but not designer...and that's okay.

I still occasionally rock out maternity shirts because, oh my Lwad, they're comfy and I'd say about 80% of the rest of my clothing is also from the grocery store or Goodwill.  No worries though, underwear is always bought brand new!  Lol!!  #keepinitreal #keepinitclassy
