Henry's First Day of 4 Year Old Preschool!

It's official.  Henry is a 4 Year Old Preschooler.

He's the big man on campus!

Now, let me start by saying that this year's "first day of school experience" was dramatically different from last year.

I mean night and day, people!

As you can see, Eliza thinks she should go to school, too.  Not yet, sweet girl!

Last year involved lots of crying...by him...and by me...  *sigh*

...Not this year!

This year, this boy wants to go to school.  He's excited and he's curious, not to mention the fact that he's a complete goof-ball!

We took it easy this past summer and I think it was the best thing I could've ever done for him.  I think he needed a "kid break" and if that entailed more time and snuggles with him, then I was game!

I just can't believe we're to this point.  I can't believe he's already four.  I can't believe he's actually excited and happy and willing to go to school or as Henry would say, "Ffffffooool."  It makes my heart happy.  It makes my heart happy for Henry. :)

We already miss him, yet he's only had a handful of school days...

*Shoes yet to be tied*  Ha! ;)

...but he's ready.

(Me?  Not so much, but that's another blog post.  One which will involve a guaranteed ugly cry.  #kiddingnotkidding)

Watch out world!

Henry's a 4 Year Preschooler!

Labor Day Weekend!

We enjoyed lots of family/friend time, boat time and we ate soooo much food, well, I did anyway! *wink*

In fact, we had an ALDI themed food party (no affiliation and for no reason other than the fact that Aldi is awesome) and it was delicious.  Later that night we played an "Aldi Truth" game and I handed out prizes (all from Aldi) to whomever answered the "Aldi Truth" correctly.  It was so fun!

Oh and these kiddos of ours were adorable and hilarious as always!

I finally got back to skiing, not slalom like the good 'ole days, but I'll take it!

Eliza and I took some much needed selfies!

We had a great time with our friends and family!  Why must summer end?!?!!

Ummm...Why-oh-why had I never heard of this clothing line?

If you're in the IG/blog world, then you've probably heard of Andrea over at Momfessionals, if not, then get your booty over to her IG/blog (I'm linking up with her for her Friday Favorites Linky Party, too)!  Andrea has a daughter, Griffin, who is always dressed in the cutest clothing and she recently blogged about her daughter trying on some new clothes from the Matilda Jane Clothing line.  I thought I'd finally head over to the Matilda Jane Clothing website to see what it was all about.

O.M.Geeeee!  I instantly fell in love and it just so happened that they were having a sale!  What better way to try out these clothes than with a sale, am.I.right?

Sooo...what I love about this clothing line is that Eliza will only wear dresses and with fall and winter fast-approaching here in Michigan, long sleeves are a MUST.  I swear, long-sleeve dresses just don't exist.  I've looked everywhere!  Ahhhh!  So, as you could imagine, I was ecstatic to find that the Matilda Jane Clothing line has the absolute cutest long-sleeve dresses ever.  Here are a couple of dresses that I ended up purchasing for Miss. Eliza.

Hurry up, Mr. Mail Man!

{FIVE}

Jon and I are headed over to Ann Arbor tomorrow for the Michigan VS Oregon State football game!  We're pretty darn excited!

Check out this oldie I found of Jon and myself attending a Michigan game circa 2011.

Thanks for stopping by my little blog!  Everyone have a great weekend and one more thing...

GO BLUE!

The Monthly Meet Up - Back to School

Happy first Thursday of the month, you guys!

You know what that means...

It's time for The Monthly Meet Up!

Sara from Great Days of Hayes and I will be hosting The Monthly Meet Up the first Thursday of every month.  Our party will last all month long, so feel free to keep linking up and be sure to stop by often to see what's new.
Every month we'll have a different theme and the theme for this month is Back to School!  All things related to your "Back to School" are welcomed!
So.....do as Sara and I would do - grab some coffee (or some vino *wink*) and party along with us!
Here we go!
Just like anything fun, we've gotta have some rules.  Ours are short and sweet:
  • Follow us and link back to us!  We'd love to connect with you, and you to connect with each other!
  • We challenge you - visit, comment and follow at least four other partiers.  Are you up for the challenge?
  • By posting, you give us permission to feature an image or post on our blog(s).  We'll always give you credit and post links back, don't you worry!
Easy enough, right!? So, grab our button, link up, and par-tay!!!

Here we gooooooooo!!!

Henry begins 4 year-old preschool next Wednesday and I'm so excited for him.  Now, I know a lot of your kiddos have already started school, but it's never too late to give a gift, take a picture or to get organized.  Can I get an Amen?!

Here are some of my favorite back-to-school ideas!

What teacher wouldn't like lip balm?  I just think this EOS lip balm gift is total adorbs!

I love this first day of school chalkboard art!  Plus, the fact that it's a printable and not actual chalk diminishes my anxiety of having to actually attempt this artwork.  It also can't get smeared.  Bonus points for that, am.I.right?!

So, I plan to bribe Henry with chocolate ice cream in order to get him to lie down on the driveway so that I can take a super cute photo like this...  #kiddingnotkidding

This filing system is exactly what we need.  This is a great way to organize all those precious little papers and projects.

Here's another cute idea to perhaps put in the file of organized school papers.  I'd help Henry out with this one, of course.  ;)

Check out this Rainbow Crayon Organizer - Talk about learning colors and organizing at the same time, eh!  It's a win-win, obviously!
