Five on Friday

Happy Friday!  

I hope you had a wonderful week.  Our week was a tad looong.  Both kids have been sick, sick, sick, but they seem to be feeling much better today....finally.  :)  

Jon and I are so happy to have our wild, little kiddos running around the house again!

This was how my week started.  This beautiful sunrise...it doesn't get any better.  Well, I guess it could...you know...if it were...say...75 degrees outside?!  ;)  But I'll take what I can get.  :)

Have you been watching The Bachelor?!  Oh.My.Gosh!  This show.  Every season Jon refuses to watch it, but then somehow he always get sucked in.  Love it!  Our favorite Bachelor has been Sean, but Chris is our second favorite.  Okay, okay, he's my second favorite - that is, as long as he doesn't screw it up.

This sleeping beauty is 20 months today!  20 months!  Four months to two?!  What?!

I'll be in the other room crying, eating chocolates and rocking back and forth...I'm sooooo not ready for two!!

Henry went roller skating for the first time (ignore the blurry picture and just try to be in the moment)!  Sick little Eliza and I stayed at home and cuddled while the boys went to the Skate Arena <---is that what you'd call it?  

Anyway, rumor has it that Henry kept saying, "Go skate over there Dad!"  He wanted to roller skate alone.  Which me being the sort-of-helicopter-mom that I am would have failed at leaving him.  However, Jon gave him his space and he did fantastic!  

So proud!  :)

I shared this gallery wall from my son's bedroom this week.  It's still looking good and I've yet to rearrange any pictures, so far so good.  

That was our week over here.  No big plans for the weekend.  Probably just watching some Super Bowl commercials.

Big Boy Bedroom Gallery Wall

Hello all!  

Today I thought I'd share a little sneak peak into my son's bedroom.  

Henry is 3 1/2 years old, 44 months to be exact, and while he's growing, I can't help but hold on to the last of his "younger years."  You know, when he was itty bitty, not just itty.  

So here you go...a big-boy-bedroom-gallery-wall, with a few of his baby pictures, of course.  ;)

The way I see it, it's kind of like when you can no longer dress your "baby" in whatever you choose.

They start to have their own opinions.

"I don't want to wear jeans!  I don't like jeans!  I want to wear shorts!" 

"Those shorts need to be put away, they're size 18 months and besides, it's 23 degrees outside!"

See where I'm going with this?  

Before I know it, something to the liking of a 2025 sci-fi movie poster will take over those captivating photographs and the most precious moments I've ever witnessed will be packed up in a box, put in the crawl space and only time will decide when those priceless pictures will once again make their appearance.

Besides, he's only itty bitty.  ;)

I recently purchased and read Building a Framework. It's an ebook written by Abby from justagirlandherblog.  It was so helpful and inspired me to start a new blog.  I've also been using her blog binder and it's been helping me tremendously.  If you haven't already, go and check it out!

We recently took the kiddos bowling.  We haven't been since our little guy was our daughter's age and I was super preggers.  Anyway, Henry loved it...no surprise.  Eliza just wanted to eat...no surprise.  :)  Can't wait to go again.  :)

Desk Nook Mood Board

Our computer has completely and utterly become a zombie.  

It wants to be alive, but all it does is turn on.........and then it just stares back at us........and it does nothing........it.just.stares.

It's a tad frustrating and our old computer, which I'm using at the moment, brings back painful dial-up memories. 

*cue world's smallest violin*

Let's continue on with the Desk Nook Design plan, shall we?!    

When my husband, Jon, mentioned that we get a desktop computer I immediately replied with, "OOooooookaaaaay, weeeeeeelllll, we need a designated desk area!"

He doesn't want this "designated desk area" to cost too much money, so an IKEA design plan it is.  I'm sure there'll be some tweaks, not to be confused with twerks, allow the way, well, maybe just one twerk??

What do you think so far?  

I'm really liking the chair up above, but I'd still like to find one with more of a "beachy" look.  Like this one, except white, which means I'd have to spray paint a brand new chair (yikes!).

Small Desk Nook Ideas

Welp.  Our computer is currently on it's last leg and the time has come to purchase some new technology.

"But, Marie, how are you blogging right now?"
Good question.  The answer:  Veeeeeeery sloooooowly...

Oh and here's the thing, we're getting a desktop.
*gasp*
Believe me when I tell you that I hope our laptop suddenly heals itself.

Unfortunately, I don't think that's the case.

On the bright side, a new desktop will have it's advantages.

1.  We'll finally have a "designated office area." 

2.  The kids can start to enjoy more informational/educational websites while in my sight and without me stressing out over them potentially dropping the laptop.  

3.  I get to design and decorate something and make it look super cute!

We're finally, FINALLY getting around to decorating our master bedroom.  It's been a blank slate for years.  Yes.  Years.

It has a fresh coat of paint (Sea Salt by Sherwin Williams) and it's ready for the finishing touches.

It's time for some ideas....

How to Rock Wood Paneling

Let's talk wood paneling.

Chances are you either grew up in a house with wood paneling or you've purchased a home with wood paneling.  

Here's the thing; wood paneling can look stylish...I mean, seeeeeriously chic.  It's truly amazing what some paint and decor can do to a room.  

I'd be lying if I didn't say that I have some wood paneling removal remorse.  Sad face.  

Don't be like me.  Embrace the wood paneling, people!
